National Star are recruiting a full time registered nurse to work at our long term living accommodation, Foundation House in Gloucester. You will be supporting residents who have complex physical disabilities and/or learning difficulties, caring for young adults who may present with respiratory, diabetes, epilepsy and other associated requirements.
Working alongside well trained care staff you will be responsible for the health care of 11 residents. The role includes developing comprehensive health plans, medical procedures and protocols and liaising with internal and external multi-disciplinary teams. You will be supporting and developing the staff team in the medication processes and empowering residents to develop skills and knowledge in relation to their wellbeing. Management of medication, liaising with GP’s, pharmacy and consultants is part of the nurse role at National Star. You will be developed and supported in all aspects of your role by the Registered Manager.
If you are an autonomous, confident and competent practitioner, who would enjoy working in a homely residential setting this could be the perfect role for you. National Star will support revalidation and offers excellent internal and external training opportunities. National Star offer an excellent working environment, facilities and equipment alongside the experience of working for an outstanding provider with CQC.
All nurses work shift patterns that can start at 7:45am for early shifts and have 8:15pm finish on late shifts, working every other weekend.
Please note that interviews for this role will be held 30th January.
At National Star, we know the value of a diverse workforce, and welcome applications from all areas of the community. This includes those with disabilities, and we are a proud Disability Confident employer and are committed to providing equal opportunities. In 2012 National Star received an 'Outstanding' from Ofsted.
Please note that all applicants will be expected to undertake a DBS Disclosure, and undergo the necessary employer checks. The level of disclosure to be applied for will be dependent on your job role and will be discussed with you during the recruitment process but is usually an enhanced level. Where appropriate, the adult and child barred lists will be checked and we will not employ anyone who appears on either of those registers.
We prefer people to submit an online application as this helps support the charity in saving money. If you have a disability and need to apply using an alternative format, or if you have any technical problems with our recruitment system, please call the HR Team on 01242 527631 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
All future correspondence with you will be via email (application acknowledgement, invitation to interview etc). Please check your email regularly.
