At National Star we do fantastically rewarding work, driven by our vision for a world in which people with disabilities are able to realise their potential as equal and active citizens in control of their lives.
If you can see yourself contributing as our new Data Protection and Information Security Officer, we would love to receive your application. There has never been a better time to progress a career in this dynamic field and we reflect that. Good information is vital to our education, therapy and care provisions. Add charity fundraising, social enterprises and marketing, and we represent a diversity of opportunity and challenge you’ll not find elsewhere.
Responsible for leading key operational privacy and security activities, you’ll make a difference from day one by applying your data protection knowledge. Working across our organisation, you’ll lead our responses to rights requests and incidents, and provide advice and practical suggestions to others to manage their risks. We’re embarking on an ISO:27001 journey which you’ll be an important part of. If you have a working knowledge of data protection, an ability to help your colleagues get where they need to go in a compliant way, excellent attention to detail and a focus on quality delivery, you could be joining the team in a beautiful location on the edge of Cheltenham.
At National Star, we know the value of a diverse workforce, and welcome applications from all areas of the community. This includes those with disabilities, and we are a proud Disability Confident employer and are committed to providing equal opportunities. In 2018 National Star received an 'Outstanding' from Ofsted.
Please note that all applicants will be expected to undertake a DBS Disclosure, and undergo the necessary employer checks. The level of disclosure to be applied for will be dependent on your job role and will be discussed with you during the recruitment process but is usually an enhanced level. Where appropriate, the adult and child barred lists will be checked and we will not employ anyone who appears on either of those registers.
We prefer people to submit an online application as this helps support the charity in saving money. If you have a disability and need to apply using an alternative format, or if you have any technical problems with our recruitment system, please call the HR Team on 01242 527631 or email email@example.com
All future correspondence with you will be via email (application acknowledgement, invitation to interview etc). Please check your email regularly.
