We are recruiting for a part time and full time all year registered nurse to work at our main site location in Ullenwood. You will be supporting learners with complex disabilities and caring for the physical and mental wellbeing of young adults who may present with respiratory, diabetes, epilepsy and other associated requirements. Working alongside well trained care staff you will be responsible for the health care of learners or residents within the accommodation. The role includes developing comprehensive health plans, medical procedures and protocols and liaising with internal and external multi-disciplinary teams. You will be supporting and developing non-qualified staff in the medication processes and empowering learners and residents to develop skills and knowledge in relation to their wellbeing. Management of medication, liaising with GP’s, pharmacy and consultants is part of the Nurse role at National Star. You will be developed and supported in all aspects of your role by the Residential Manager (not necessarily nurse qualified).
At National Star, we know the value of a diverse workforce, and welcome applications from all areas of the community. This includes those with disabilities, and we are a proud Disability Confident employer and are committed to providing equal opportunities. In 2018 National Star received an 'Outstanding' from Ofsted.
Please note that all applicants will be expected to undertake a DBS Disclosure, and undergo the necessary employer checks. The level of disclosure to be applied for will be dependent on your job role and will be discussed with you during the recruitment process but is usually an enhanced level. Where appropriate, the adult and child barred lists will be checked and we will not employ anyone who appears on either of those registers.
We prefer people to submit an online application as this helps support the charity in saving money. If you have a disability and need to apply using an alternative format, or if you have any technical problems with our recruitment system, please call the HR Team on 01242 527631 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
All future correspondence with you will be via email (application acknowledgement, invitation to interview etc). Please check your email regularly.
