The National Star staff team is a community of people dedicated to supporting people with complex disabilities to achieve their aspirations. We have just agreed a salary increase of 5% across all our jobs from January 2022 to recognise the commitment and dedication of our staff. 

All new staff joining National Star will also be eligible to receive a welcome bonus of up to £250 (pro-rata) upon successful completion of their probation.

We are recruiting  part time registered day and night nurses to work at our long term living accommodation, Foundation House in Gloucester.  You will be supporting residents who have complex physical disabilities and/or learning difficulties, caring for young adults who may present with respiratory, diabetes, epilepsy and other associated requirements.

Working alongside well trained care staff you will be responsible for the health care of 11 residents.  The role includes developing comprehensive health plans, medical procedures and protocols and liaising with internal and external multi-disciplinary teams.  

You will be supporting and developing the staff team in the medication processes and empowering residents to develop skills and knowledge in relation to their wellbeing.  Management of medication, liaising with GP’s, pharmacy and consultants is part of the nurse role at National Star. You will be developed and supported in all aspects of your role by the Registered Manager.

If you are an autonomous, confident and competent practitioner, who would enjoy working in a homely residential setting this could be the perfect role for you. Recent and ongoing competency within respiratory care and management of Tracheostomy/Laryngectomy is highly preferred.  National Star will support revalidation and offers excellent internal and external training opportunities.

Our Day Nurse part time roles will be working either 16-20 hours per week. All nurses work shift patterns that can start at 7:30am for early shifts and have a 10pm finish on late shifts, working every other weekend. 

Our Night Nurses provide waking night nursing cover between 9:30pm and 8am, and will be working 24 hours per week.

The salary for this role is FTE £31,992 - £34,454. pro rata (£16.62 - £17.90 per hour) rising to £33,591.60 - £36,176.70 (£17.45 - £18.80 per hour) from January 2022 (+10% for weekend hours)
