National Star is a national charity that works predominantly with 16-25 year olds with a wide range of complex disabilities, rated Outstanding by OFSTED in 2017 & Outstanding by CQC (Care Quality Commission) in 2018. At our core is the delivery of a number of specialist educational programmes ranging from broad life-skills to employment skills. These programmes are a mix of residential & day provision that are delivered currently across our locations in Ullenwood, Nr Cheltenham, central Cheltenam, Gloucester, Hereford, Malvern and in Mamhilad, South Wales.
For this role, the learners you will be supporting are aged 19 to 25 and have a range of disabilities including complex physical disabilities, learning disabilities, autism spectrum condition and acquired brain injury.
As one of our friendly team of motivated Tutors you will work with a group of learners studying at E2 to Level 1. You will be nurtured to grow and develop in your role at our Wales College, also having the opportunity to travel to other National Star college sites for training and developmental opportunities.
You are likely to be a first class ALN Tutor who is QTS qualified or working towards a QTS. National Star in Wales is looking for a team player who has experience of working with young people with additional learning needs. We will support you every step of the way so that you can deliver high quality individual programmes of education and life skills sessions which maximise learning, independence and wellbeing. Hours of work will be Monday to Thursday, 8.30am – 4.30pm (5pm one day) making up 33 hours per week for 40 weeks per year, approx 0.89 FTE giving an actual salary of £22830.98 - £27582.97 rising to £23972.52 - £28,774.82 in January 2022. A job share may be considered.
