National Star College is a specialist further education college for young adults aged 16-25 years with complex physical and learning disabilities. Our staff team is a community of people dedicated to supporting our students to achieve their aspirations.
We have just agreed a salary increase of 5% across all our jobs from January 2022 to recognise the commitment and dedication of our staff.
All new staff joining National Star will also be eligible to receive a welcome bonus of up to £250 (pro-rata) upon successful completion of their probation.
National Star in Wales are recruiting person centred, dynamic people to support our students who have physical and learning disabilities at our college in Mamhilad (Nr. Pontypool)
As a Care and Support Facilitator you will work with our day students supporting them with their individual journeys at National Star. You will be supporting students with their learning programmes, personal care, therapy programmes and work experience.
National Star has a fantastic multi-disciplinary team approach where you will work with tutors, physiotherapist, speech & language therapist, occupational therapist and emotional well-being practitioner, as well as the support staff in the Facilitator team.
We are looking for people who are motivated to support young adults with disabilities and learning difficulties and able to use their initiative and demonstrate a positive attitude towards the aspirations of our students.
Experience of working with people with disabilities or learning difficulties and a relevant qualification is desirable however applications will be considered from applicants with no previous experience but who can demonstrate the potential to develop in the role.

The salary for this role is £17504.53 FTE / £9.10 per hour rising to £18,379.76 FTE / £9.56 per hour from January 2022
