National Star are looking for Personal Learning Co-ordinators to work with a group of learners with a range of disabilities to ensure they maximise learning, independence and wellbeing in order to prepare them for life after college. You will be responsible for putting together learning programmes and liaising with key staff, external professionals and families, as well as monitoring, recording and optimising learner progress.
We have term time only / full time permanent roles as well as a fixed term role to July 2021. Part time hours may be considered according to the needs of our students. Please state your preference in your application.
You will have experience of working with people with moderate learning difficulties, severe and multiple learning difficulties and /or Autistic Spectrum Disorder. You need to have excellent interpersonal skills; be proactive, creative and forward thinking; enjoy networking, planning, setting targets and delivering learning.
You will hold a relevant level 3 or 4 professional qualification and ideally a teaching qualification at Diploma level, however we can provide you with the chance to gain an FE teaching qualification as part of the role. Persons enrolling on the full teaching Diploma programme will be offered on a lower salary and an adjustment applied on confirmation of fully qualified status.

Our charity runs a specialist independent college for residential and day learners with complex disabilities in Gloucestershire (near Cheltenham) and two further day colleges in Hereford and Wales. We also run supported internships and traineeships, travel training and work in partnership with charities and other organisations across the UK.
