This is an exciting time to join the award winning LIFT Programme as we start a new service with Cambridgeshire County Council. In partnership with Cambridgeshire County Council and other service providers you will provide independent travel training to vulnerable young people who have learning difficulties or physical disabilities, to enable them to use public transport for journeys to school or college.
The Programme Leader will be responsible for leading a new team of Travel Trainers, identifying the caseload of young people, working closely with the Council, developing and processing learner referrals, preparing performance reports and will be managed by the Head of Lift Training.
You will join a strong national programme and after induction training will be capable of delivering structured 1:1 support working in a community setting across Cambridgeshire. Most work will be undertaken at or from home. However, hot desking is possible at local authority hubs and meetings can be arranged at local authority premises. Lift Training will supply the Programme Leader with a laptop, mobile phone and printer to enable home working. The role will require travel and flexible start and finish times.
Ideally with experience of working with young people who have learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities applicants may come from a variety of backgrounds such as education , learner support, care workers, former Police Officers, youth workers etc.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, creative, excited to be working with young people and who has good communication skills; someone who is innovative, with enthusiasm and drive, who can inspire others; someone who is experience of leading a project, ideally having worked with multi agency partners and is experienced in problem solving. A teaching qualification would be an advantage for this role however Lift Training will support the gaining of such qualifications.
