National Star College is a specialist further education college for young adults aged 16-25 years with complex physical and learning disabilities. Our staff team is a community of people dedicated to supporting our students to achieve their aspirations.

We are looking for some people with care background but also we would like encourage those with no experience to come forward as we offer a comprehensive induction and training programme and will help you to achieve your qualifications in Health and Social Care. At National Star we create individualised learning programmes for our students based on their interests, aspirations and requirements. Some of our students come to us on a daily basis and others live with us within our college residences at Ullenwood (near Cheltenham), Cheltenham, Hereford and Gloucester.
We currently have opportunities available to join our residential team as a Facilitator (care/support worker). You will have an allocated residence with its own staff team and group of students and support them with their individual journeys at National Star. You will support students within their daily routines delivering person centred care, facilitation of learning and participation within social activities.
National Star has excellent facilities including a fantastic multi-disciplinary team approach where you will work with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, behavioural psychologists and practitioners, nurses, support staff (Facilitators), tutors and personal learning coordinators.
You will have the opportunity of all year contracts, with options to work part time (minimum 16hrs) up to full time (44hrs for term time only and 37hrs for all year). You will be required to work shifts, these tend to be early e.g. 7am-2pm, late e.g. 2pm – 10pm and spreads e.g. 10am – 6pm. You will be required to work every other weekend, full time term time staff when working alternate weekends are required to work long days on both the Saturday and Sunday approx. 8am - 8pm. Please specify on your application your flexibility regarding hours and locations.
Please note that it is essential to have access to transport for this role as some sites are not accessible on public transport routes.

Excellent rates of pay £10.00 - £10.40 per hour with enhanced weekend rates £12.50 - £13.00 rising to £10.50- £10.92 per hour (£13.13 - £13.65 weekend hours) from January 2022.The role of Facilitator is on a grading system with scope to increase remuneration with competence.
