National Star College is a specialist further education college for young adults aged 16-25 years with complex physical and learning disabilities. Our staff team is a community of people dedicated to supporting our students to achieve their aspirations.
We have just agreed a salary increase of 5% across all our jobs from January 2022 to recognise the commitment and dedication of our staff.
All new staff joining National Star will also be eligible to receive a welcome bonus of up to £250 (pro-rata) upon successful completion of their probation.
We are looking for person centred, dynamic and proactive Care & Education Facilitators at our college in Hereford to support young adults with varied and complex disabilities to learn, develop and flourish whilst maintaining their health and wellbeing, so that they can reach their full potential whilst at College.
As a Care & Education Facilitator you will provide high standards of support to learners including providing personal care and supporting their therapeutic, social and educational activities to facilitate their learning, empowering the individual and encouraging autonomy.
Enthusiasm, professionalism and a strong work ethic is essential, as well as being able to demonstrate a positive attitude towards the aspirations of young people with disabilities. You will be motivated and able to use initiative with the ability to manage change, rise to a challenge and be resilient in character.
Experience of working with people with learning and/or physical disabilities and a level 2 qualification in care or learning support is desirable, however applications will be welcomed from people with no previous experience who can demonstrate the potential to develop in the role. We expect very high standards so we provide excellent support and training to enable you to meet these.
This post requires holders to work between 8.30am – 4:30 (5pm team meeting day) Monday to Friday in a variety of patterns during the 39 week term time.

Our charity runs a specialist independent college for residential and day learners with complex disabilities in Gloucestershire (near Cheltenham) and two further day colleges in Hereford and Wales. We also run supported internships and traineeships, travel training and work in partnership with charities and other organisations across the UK.
We also provide high quality residential long-term living accommodation for young people with disabilities in Gloucester, Cheltenham, Hereford and Malvern.
