Join National Star’s customer-focused finance team as our new Finance Assistant and help to ensure that suppliers are paid correctly and on time.

 

With two years of experience of working on purchase ledger we’re expecting you’ll have excellent attention to detail, strong IT skills and experience of Sage 200 and an integrated purchase order system. It goes without saying that numeracy will be one of your strong points, you’ll be a whizz on Excel and meeting deadlines is second nature to you.

 

But what is equally important is your understanding that, as Finance Assistant, you have internal and external customers who may need your support. Reminding staff how to use our integrated PO system is likely to fall to you so you’ll need to have patience and be a first class communicator. You’ll also need to be on hand to answer phone calls and emails from suppliers. You may be called upon to help with other finance related tasks – this is where your team work and can-do attitude will come in handy.

 

Once you are established in your role there will be an opportunity to include an element of home-working into your weekly schedule. When you’re in the office you will be based at Ullenwood, our main site in Gloucestershire, just outside Cheltenham.

 

We have plenty of free parking for staff but also run a courtesy staff mini-bus which picks up staff from various locations across Cheltenham and Gloucester. Members of the finance team are known to use this service!
