Do you have a passion for promoting the Emotional Wellbeing of young adults with disabilities?

We are looking for someone with experience of delivering high quality Behaviour Support who could assess the emotional wellbeing needs of new National Star students in a holistic and systematic way.

At National Star we recognise that there are a range of issues outside college that can have an impact on a student’s life. The College’s Emotional Wellbeing Service promotes good mental health and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), to enable learners to get the most from their social, educational, and life skills programmes.

We offer a range of support including arts therapies such as drama and music, talking therapy, Clinical Psychology and Positive Behaviour Support.

We have a dynamic and creative team with an ethos in reflective practice, learning and development.  We welcome applicants with a Psychology background but also other backgrounds where skills are demonstrably transferable.

As part of the role you will:

Carry out assessments of prospective students’ Emotional Wellbeing needs, including liaising  with the student, parents/carers and other key stakeholders.

Observe the student in a variety of settings.  These will largely be on site, during educational settings, during transition and in free time or where there is an identified area of concern.

Attend multi-disciplinary meetings with other staff from the Emotional Wellbeing Service team to ensure the correct level of support is being recommended.

Write up assessment findings and recommended levels of support.

Hold a caseload within the Emotional Wellbeing Service, providing Positive Behaviour Support and Emotional Wellbeing plans for students.
