About the Role

Our success is largely due to the dedication and hard work of our Facilitators (known elsewhere as Care Workers or Support Workers, but we like the title to reflect the fact that these staff facilitate the independence of our learners). As we offer more services and welcome increasingly complex learners to our organisation, we need to continually look for the right people to join our growing team.
We have continued need for applicants who have experience working with people with learning and/or physical disabilities, and a Level 2 qualification in care or learning support. We also encourage applications from people with no previous experience. We provide award winning training to everyone we hire- what's important is that you support our values and can demonstrate the potential to develop in this role. You will have a positive attitude towards the aspirations of young people with disabilities, as well as be able to show that you are professional, hardworking and enthusiastic about the care sector.
You will support students and residents with personal care, therapy, and social and educational activities. It's important to note that personal care will include washing, dressing, toileting and continence support, foot care, feeding and undertaking some medical procedures. Again, training will be provided to all successful candidates and we take all possible measures to make sure you feel comfortable and confident in what you're asked to do.
Successful candidates will be motivated and able to use their initiative. As a CQC Outstanding and Ofsted Outstanding organisation, we have very high standards and so we will expect you to follow our protocol and deliver care and support in line with your training.
When you start, you will attend a 2-3 week induction course at our main site in Ullenwood. While you may not be based here for your role, this will be a great chance to see the campus and understand everything we offer. Our in-house training team has been awarded the Princess Royal Training Award and will support you as you become familiar with your role. This is mandatory for everyone who joins us, so that we are able to maintain our standards of care and support.
We have sites in Cheltenham, Gloucester, and Ullenwood (near the Air Balloon Roundabout). If you state a preference in your application, we will try to take that into account, but please be aware that the interview panel will make a decision as to which team will be the most appropriate for you and this may be in any of our locations.
We are able to offer Full Time and Part Time positions, as well as All Year or Term Time Only. Facilitators work shift patterns, which start as early as 7am and finish no later than 10 or 11pm. Your shifts will be a mixture of earlies and lates, and while we will take into account any days you are unavailable, there is a requirement to work a minimum of every other weekend.
