Gaining real work experience is essential for students to develop the skills needed to get employment after college and this role will enable students to do just that! This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to gain teaching qualifications as you will be supported by National Star to gain up to certificate level.
Working across the Customer Services and StarPrint Printing Enterprise Teams, the successful candidate will support young people with learning or physical disabilities to learn the skills necessary to work in reception, customer service or administration roles. This will be done by effective role modelling for learners and other staff, careful assessment of students’ abilities and potential, creative carving of job tasks and imparting knowledge and learning to students.
Experience of job mentoring, teaching or supporting learning, particularly with young people with disabilities would be a distinct advantage, coupled with experience of reception or office work.
The role is term time plus additional weeks in the holiday periods on a rota basis to ensure support is maintained for students.
At National Star, we know the value of a diverse workforce, and welcome applications from all areas of the community. This includes those with disabilities, and we are a proud Disability Confident employer and are committed to providing equal opportunities. In 2018 National Star received an 'Outstanding' from Ofsted.
Please note that all applicants will be expected to undertake a DBS Disclosure, and undergo the necessary employer checks. The level of disclosure to be applied for will be dependent on your job role and will be discussed with you during the recruitment process but is usually an enhanced level. Where appropriate, the adult and child barred lists will be checked and we will not employ anyone who appears on either of those registers.
We prefer people to submit an online application as this helps support the charity in saving money. If you have a disability and need to apply using an alternative format, or if you have any technical problems with our recruitment system, please call the HR Team on 01242 527631 or email email@example.com.
All future correspondence with you will be via email (application acknowledgement, invitation to interview etc). Please check your email regularly.
