INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY

An exciting opportunity for two Care and Support Assessors has arisen within our Recruitment, Assessment, Admission and Transition department, in effort to further enhance new student assessment processes for main site learners.

The role will require you to assess potential service users in relation to their care and support needs. You will facilitate their overnight or day assessment, gather information and complete the appropriate areas of the funding application report. You will advise staff teams of service user need and support their transition into the organisation. You will provide high quality flexible support to the assessment and transition function.

You will need to hold a minimum of level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care with a willingness to achieve level 3. You will also need a minimum of 2 years’ experience working within care ideally with those who have a physical/learning disability.

You will primarily be based at National Star’s main offices at Ullenwood, Cheltenham, but with a requirement to visit other locations of service delivery and to attend meetings, events or training.

An average of 30 hours per week on a rota, Mon-Friday term-time with a requirement to adapt flexibly to workloads. The post requires shift work, with early shifts starting at 7am and late shifts ending at 10pm. There may be occasional requirement for weekend working to support national recruitment events. Where recruitment events require substantial travel an overnight option may be offered.

Important Information

At National Star, we know the value of a diverse workforce, and welcome applications from all areas of the community. This includes those with disabilities, and we are a proud Disability Confident employer and are committed to providing equal opportunities. In 2018 National Star received an 'Outstanding' from Ofsted.

Please note that all applicants will be expected to undertake a DBS Disclosure, and undergo the necessary employer checks. The level of disclosure to be applied for will be dependent on your job role and will be discussed with you during the recruitment process but is usually an enhanced level. Where appropriate, the adult and child barred lists will be checked and we will not employ anyone who appears on either of those registers.

We prefer people to submit an online application as this helps support the charity in saving money. If you have a disability and need to apply using an alternative format, or if you have any technical problems with our recruitment system, please call the HR Team on 01242 527631 or email hr@natstar.ac.uk.

All future correspondence with you will be via email (application acknowledgement, invitation to interview etc). Please check your email regularly.
