National Star is expanding the team and an opportunity has arisen for a talented chef to cook fresh food for its students and staff.

You will produce food from a planned menu that is nutritious and seasonal. To produce a menu within time restraints. To stay within budget, order from our preferred suppliers and ensure all essential paperwork is completed to keep us compliant. Great customer service skills and an ability to communicate to students who may have communication difficulties. Excellent numeracy skills and to record daily takings.

You must have the ability to lead a team in the absence of the Head Chef.

You will be supported by the Specialist Catering Services Manager and Head Chef but given the scope to develop your style. This post is 41 hours a week to include shifts between 7am – 7pm plus 1 x 10.5 hours shift, one day every other weekend (two week rolling rota). 42 week contract (term time plus holiday lettings). Enhanced DBS will be required.
