We are currently looking for a registered nurse to join our night team on a part time all year basis.
You will be supporting students with complex disabilities, you will be caring for the physical and mental wellbeing of young adults who may present with respiratory, diabetes, epilepsy and other associated requirements.
Working alongside well trained care staff you will be responsible for the health care of around 20 students. The role includes developing comprehensive health plans, medical procedures and protocols and liaising with internal and external multi-disciplinary teams. You will be supporting and developing non-qualified staff in the medication processes and empowering students to develop skills and knowledge in relation to their well-being. Management of medication, liaising with GP’s, pharmacy and consultants is part of the Nurse role at National Star. You will be developed and supported in all aspects of your role by the Residential Manager (not necessarily nurse qualified).
If you are an autonomous, confident and competent practitioner, who enjoys working in a busy and varied setting this could be the perfect role for you. National Star will support revalidation and offers excellent internal and external training opportunities. National Star offer an excellent working environment, facilities and equipment and the experience of working for an outstanding provider, both with Ofsted and CQC.
We are committed to providing outstanding care to our learners and residents, and therefore are interested in speaking to registered nurses at any time. We are evolving constantly to continue to be an employer of choice, and we would be interested in discussing upcoming opportunities at any stage. Please apply and we'll be in touch shortly.
At National Star, we know the value of a diverse workforce, and welcome applications from all areas of the community. This includes those with disabilities, and we are a proud Disability Confident employer and are committed to providing equal opportunities. In 2018 National Star received an 'Outstanding' from Ofsted.
Please note that all applicants will be expected to undertake a DBS Disclosure, and undergo the necessary employer checks. The level of disclosure to be applied for will be dependent on your job role and will be discussed with you during the recruitment process but is usually an enhanced level. Where appropriate, the adult and child barred lists will be checked and we will not employ anyone who appears on either of those registers.
We prefer people to submit an online application as this helps support the charity in saving money. If you have a disability and need to apply using an alternative format, or if you have any technical problems with our recruitment system, please call the HR Team on 01242 527631 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
All future correspondence with you will be via email (application acknowledgement, invitation to interview etc). Please check your email regularly.
