Are you an education, health or social care professional with experience of working with young adults with complex physical and learning difficulties and are looking for a career with a difference?
At National Star we recognise that there are a range of issues outside of education that can have an impact on a learner’s life. National Star’s Emotional Wellbeing Service promotes good mental health and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), to enable learners in getting the most from their social, educational, and life skills programmes.
We are looking for someone to join our Positive Behaviour Support Team working full time to help us lead our Team Teach training, enabling our colleagues to develop the skills they need to fully support our learners in their everyday lives and studies. The role will be based at based at Ullenwood (GL53 9QU) on the outskirts of Cheltenham but there will be the requirement to travel to our other sites across Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Hereford and South Wales.
You will attend a 5 day Team Teach trainer course giving you the knowledge and tools to coordinate and deliver Team Teach training across the organisation.
You will be a flexible, approachable and proactive role model in relation to Positive Behaviour Support. Working closely with the Emotional Wellbeing Service, our training team and managers across the organisation, you will identify and respond to skills development for relevant staff with a primary focus on preventative strategies in behaviour support but also, where appropriate, the delivery of physical intervention.
It also goes without saying that you will need the confidence and communication skills to deliver training. You will manage your own workload and administration within this role.
