Are you an experienced ER professional who enjoys working strategically and operationally within HR?
National Star is a special education needs organisation providing the opportunity for young people with disabilities to realise their potential as equal and active citizens in control of their lives. This sits at the heart of everything we do, from the personalised and world-class learning we provide via National Star College to training, specialist services and our work in the wider community. All of this is underpinned by both our passion to enrich people’s lives and by our moral and statutory responsibilities.
With more than 1,200 employees, National Star’s HR team plays a key role in the smooth running of our charity. Within the wider HR team, our newly created HR Delivery team, includes HRBPs, an Employee Relations specialist and a Wellbeing Advisor who work collaboratively to provide great customer service and wellbeing advice alongside our employment law knowledge and strategic work.
This diverse role will see you partner with key stakeholders, building people and manager capability, developing, shaping and, implementing effective business plans and people strategies and, providing a professional, trusted, customer-focused people service to the business. You’ll be a champion of change and will join the rest of the HR Delivery team in elevating HR to a more proactive service.
The partnerships you build across our services in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Wales, will help to ensure we continue to attract and retain great people who in turn provide exceptional service to our students and residents.
The role is offered as fixed term for 12months 30 hours a week worked over 5 days. Our HR Delivery team work in a hybrid way, with a proportion of home working balanced with site work depending on organisational need.
Important Information
At National Star, we know the value of a diverse workforce, and welcome applications from all areas of the community. This includes those with disabilities, and we are a proud Disability Confident employer and are committed to providing equal opportunities. In 2018 National Star received an 'Outstanding' from Ofsted.
Please note that all applicants will be expected to undertake a DBS Disclosure, and undergo the necessary employer checks. The level of disclosure to be applied for will be dependent on your job role and will be discussed with you during the recruitment process but is usually an enhanced level. Where appropriate, the adult and child barred lists will be checked and we will not employ anyone who appears on either of those registers.
We prefer people to submit an online application as this helps support the charity in saving money. If you have a disability and need to apply using an alternative format, or if you have any technical problems with our recruitment system, please call the HR Team on 01242 527631 or email hr.test@3dmarcomms.com
All future correspondence with you will be via email (application acknowledgement, invitation to interview etc). Please check your email regularly.
