Join the highly respected team of Personal Learning Coordinator Tutors at National Star. We have a full or part-time teaching position within our team working 4 days (30 hours) or (37hours) over 40 weeks (term time plus one week).
It will be your job to deliver high quality and stimulating learning for students with Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (CLDD) such as Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), Multi-Sensory Impairments and/ or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). Typically, the learners you would be teaching are learning at an early years level.
Multi-disciplinary work will be critical in your role so that you can ensure students maximise their learning, boosting their independence and wellbeing to prepare them for life after college. A large part of your role will involve liaising with other staff, external professionals and students’ families, supporting with transition planning as well as monitoring, recording and optimising the progress of learners.
It goes without saying that you will be a first-class communicator, who is creative, proactive and forward-thinking with excellent organisational skills.
You will have experience of working with people with complex learning difficulties and disabilities such as ASC and/ or profound and multiple learning difficulties or severe learning difficulties. You will hold a relevant level 3 or 4 professional qualification and ideally have or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification at Diploma level. (Salary advertised is based on a qualified teacher, those studying towards a full teaching qualification will follow an adjusted pay scale.)
